Back Pain refers to a state in which either an injury or continued strain induced by pre-existing ailment(s) and if such cause is not known, the altered biomechanics of walking (feet) led to chronic pain. Such ailments include strained back with or without any sprain, osteoarthritis / osteoporosis, ruptured disk and spinal stenosis in aged persons. It varies from recurrent or continuous, surface or up to deep layers; hurting or excruciating/ sharp and even sometimes intensely shooting disturbing sleep patterns.
Bony area of lumbar spine; discs between vertebrae; ligaments framework in the spine area, muscles of low back, internal organ of the pelvis and abdomen; skin covering the lumbar area are generally different areas of probable lower back pain. Bony lumbar spine is a stacked protected system that allows movement while vert`ebral body (strong bony surface) that allows weight bearing. Disc between vertebrae is the cushioning area that minimise the impact of stress forces on the spinal column. Ligament framework support bony attachments and various muscle groups are responsible for flexing, extending, and rotating the waist allowing movement of the lower extremities, attach to the lumbar spine through tendon insertions. The circulation network provides significant blood supply to the area facilitating functioning of lower back i.e. structural support, movement and protection of various body tissues. The lower back support the weight of the upper body as person stand and when a person moves in any direction it allows such movement.
The cases in which in no injury cause is known to link with back pain, it directly indicates that it could be flat feet or any other feet related issue that transfers extreme stress of body weight to back of the body causing pain. The pain travels from foot to ankle/knee, then hips and back of the body causing extreme chronic discomfort to lower back. Such posture misalignment can lead to pains up to upper back including cervical pains.
Lumbar Strain- Localised strain as a consequent to soft tissue or mechanically stressed injury due to overuse, improper use or trauma. It could even be chronic (> 12 weeks) if the abnormal gait cycle is also underlying cause. Spinal Back support should be used while resting such strained back.
Nerve Irritation- nerves of spine area irritated by mechanical pressure could be viral in source or lumbar Radiculopathy. Lumbar radiculopathy involves wear and tear between the discs and often known as Sciatic pain (popping or radiating pain shoots from low back to buttocks towards leg- painful legs). It is only on one side (not on both sides) with numbness and tingling in the back. Specific therapy is recommended along with resting on spinal back support (or rest), while sitting.
Spondylolisthesis i.e., slippage of one vertebra relative to another and spinal stenosis- compression of the nerve roots or spinal cord by bony spurs or other soft tissues in the spinal canal are other causative factors for lower back pain.
The birth defects of bone and joint conditions in lower back (scoliosis or spina bifida), injury (fracture- broken vertebrae – such as from osteoporosis or degenerative); spinal disc herniation- can be assessed by straight leg rest; arthritis could be other underlying causes. Other uncommon causes include Paget’s disease; bleeding or infection in the pelvis (persons who are on medication of warfarin); infection of the disc (septic discitis) or bone (osteomyelitis); Brucellosis; Aneurysm of the aorta and; Shingles etc.
If the pain persists after home remedy, proper diagnosis by expert is essential. The proper diagnosis of underlying cause of such pains is linked with the lifestyle and status of existing of health condition. It is essential to conduct icing or heat therapy; pain relievers; massaging, aerobic, muscle-firming/ stretching exercises as recommended by experts; while simultaneously avoiding occupations involving back stress. Walk, reach to your destination by cycles and swim can maintain fitness without straining low back. Use of appropriate orthotic back support to relieve stress while long sitting occupations. For severe cases, surgical interventions with long term rehabilitation are necessary.
It is recommended to wear high performance insole (most recommended choice) or alternatively insole with arch or medial arch insole (heel with arch) in your footwear to align your body preventing inner pronation. If the progressive flat foot is in advance stages use Arch Support initially for first few months followed by high performance insole. It has been observed that back pain is often associated with Prolonged Driving stress, all those who are driving for longer duration are advised to use Car Seat Cushion (it’s unique wedge design and anti-vibration gel induced pressure dispersion led spinal alignment reduces back pains).
Metatarsalgia is often accompanied by sharp aching burning or might be shooting pain generally localized behind the big toe or to second toe end (due to excessive pressure transfer) due to ill-fitting shoes/ high heel; high impact sports (jumping)/ exercise (running overtime); foot shapes like high arch or second toe is longer than big toe; foot deformities like curling of toes (hammer toe); bunions; swollen painful bumps; obesity; stress fractures; morton’s neuroma; rheumatoid arthritis or gout etc.
The pain being sharp, aching as well shooting in the forefoot area which is generally encounters pebble first if you are barewalking on a surface and it gets worsened as you walk further. Such sensation if becomes constant and increasing while flexing your foot, there is a significant possibility that it could be metatarsalgia or stone bruise. Consult your doctor if such pain sustained for few days.
Metatarsalgia is often caused by other foot deformities too. Thus, understanding of causative factor guides remedial action. In all cases, metatarsal care products are recommended.
In case of intense training, there is significant absorption of force (4-5 times body weight) by forefoot, high performance insole is recommended. High arch foot put extra pressure on big toe joint, Lateral wedge insole is recommended. If the Second Toe is longer than big toe, extra pressure on second toe joint, Toe & Metatarsal Protector is recommended. The pain is also felt in conditions like Hammer Toe; Bunion; Bumps on top of toe; Excess Weight (Obesity); Poor fitting of shoes; Stress Fractures and Morton’s Neuroma, use products as recommended to each lifestyle ailment. In all above cases, if the person is suffering from Rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes; extra care is required.
Resting your foot is always recommended with icepacks (wrapped in towels) can minimize pain / reduce inflammation and if necessary take pain relievers based on doctor’s recommendation. One needs to understand, what type of foot he has? In case it is high arch or conversely progressive flattening, arch support is essential; otherwise lifestyle universal insoles inserts / sports insoles are recommended. Use of metatarsal pads and toe crests/ caps is also recommended based on conditions. The combination of foot deformities governs the choice of product too. Metatarsal care productsare recommended to provide extra cushioning to this region, if the foot deformity is alone. However, wider toe box shoes, insoles with arch and toe crests can provide some effective solutions. Maintain a healthy weight range is an essentiality. In case conservative therapy does n’t achieve the desired goal, surgical interventions especially in case of hammer toe is recommended.
The best recommended products including Metatarsal Cushion (for all purposes); Foot comforter (while wandering in home); High Performance Insole / Insole with Arch (for daily wear) and Diabetic Insole (for diabetics). Cokum Foot Cream and Phantom Foot Perfume are also recommended to ensure hydration and best care of your foot.
The buildup of sweat led to enhanced bacterial growth on skin or similarly fungal infection in athlete’s foot is often described as bad smelling foot or bromodosis.
People get smelly feet when the perspiration has no where to go means wearing closed shoes for whole day (if they are wet from inside, further aggravating the situation). However, the prime cause is not sweat while microbial growth that eat’s sweat and product isovaleric acid leads to bad smell.
Use clean socks (cotton or breathable wool able to absorb sweat), keep foot clean and dry; switch shoes; use anti-microbial foot powder; wash insoles and even shoes (however avoid plastic shoes). It is always considered that bare foot prevent bad smelling foot.
It is a blend of butter and essential oil with hydrating potential and also anti-micorbial properties requisite for managing bad smelling feet. The foot perfume is organic and useful in managing bad smelling feet.
Bunion is a protrusion of joint at the base of big toe pushing toe inwards attributed towards enlargement and repositioning of joints at the ball of the foot caused by high heel wearers (ladies); tight-fitting and narrow toed shoes or otherwise inherited genetically.
The body weight pressure due to excessive turning of ankles and injuries might induce bunion leading to a condition (malformation) in which big toe bulges outwards medially referred as hallux valgus deformity.
Ladies who continuously wear high heels and if diabetic are extremely vulnerable. Osteoarthritic patients cause degenerating cartilage(s) & bony spurs; scarring of joints leading to painless bulging followed by redness tenderness and pain in joints, sometimes associated with bursitis. Diabetic neuropathy of foot also aid in aggravation of situation. The wearing of ill-fit shoes is another reason for enhanced vulnerability in mid-age population.
The small fluid-filled sac near the joint of big toe affected by ill-distributed body weight, an inflammatory response of body protects the joint by creating a fluid medium referred as bursa and condition is called as bursitis.
The cause of ill-distribution body weight should be removed followed by preventive measures of providing artificial cushioning between bulged area and frictional impact of footwear. This can be achieved by functional orthotics of toe care. Wearing of wider shoes, stretching exercises while avoiding compression of toes will reduce its impact. Doctor’s should be consulted when there is no progress in self-care, pain prevents daily activities associated with redness and swelling. Pain could be treated by corticosteroids/Anti-inflammatory drugs while surgical removal of enlargement can only be exercised in case of other options are non-viable, very rare in such cases when there is a persisting pain.
Toe Spreader with Bunion Sleeve prevents aggravation of bone protrusion & straighten toe simultaneously. This will reduce the pressure on joints of other toes as well as provide artificial cushioning of C3I organogel to bulged portion. Toe Spreader (D) with D-ring alone can only be used in case there is no bulge yet i.e. only straightening is required and cushioned protective healing layer to bursa. It has been observed that such cases are linked with metatarsal and ball of foot pains, thus to provide adequate support to metatarsal area while providing simultaneous cushioning to bone protrusion / straightening of big toe, arch support insoles are recommended. Medial Arch Insole (for footwear with narrow front), High Performance Insole (applicable to all footwear except if there are foot blisters too), Insole with Arch (applicable to all even if person has foot blisters) and Arch Support (should be used initially for few months prior to switching to High Performance Insole if you are suffering from progressive flat too) are recommended based on choice of buyer.
Mastectomy refers to surgical remove of breast as reported in numerous cancer cases. It could be total, radical (breast, lymph nodes and chest muscles); modified radical (breast, most of lymph nodes, & lining of chest muscles) and; Lumpectomy – (tumour and small amount of normal tissue). The site after removal of breast is extremely vulnerable and require special care
External complete breast, weighted to prevent shoulder drop or poor balance. Light weight foam prosthesis to be worn just after surgery till recovery is done to hold complete gel breast. It could be attachable (using special medical adhesives) or can be placed into mastectomy bra having strings to hold it in place. It could be partial / equalizers breasts for partial breast removals.
6-10 weeks are preferable as by this time surgical area is able to hold the weight of Gel breasts, in the mean time foam based light breasts could be worn. As the chest area is not completely healed, permanent prosthesis are not recommended. Soft prosthesis used during this tenure are 'fill in foam' breasts within fabric of softest bra to give shape similar to your other breast. Once healed, Natural Touch Gel Breast Prosthesis should be worn. It is recommended to consult your orthosists/ surgeon for the same.
Preferably a knit top as per customized size with foam based breasts (being extremely light weight & requires for short duration) for first few weeks followed by gel breast prosthesis.
Organic Gel breast form is an elastomer without any plastic like film. It is an approved medical grade gel (G-certified) and no damage can incur to you or your clothing. Gel breast prostheses are unbelievably resilient for extended long periods, if properly cared. These are washable by local detergents and wiped using specific cleaners to maintain hygiene. The use of talcum powder and body lotions on or around the prosthesis is allowed as it will enhance personal sanitation and hygiene. Soaps with moisturizers can also be used. Pat it dry with a soft towel or cloth. Take care not to puncture your breast form with sharp objects, such as pins or pet claws, however, being closed foam it doesn’t leak, though can be cut. It is not possible to repair and your guarantee will be forfeited. Avoid direct sunlight exposure or any source of excessive heat / unprotected by proper clothing being oil based system. No cradle is required for retain its shape, just place in the box or covered place to make it away from dust. There are no special swim prostheses required as it is a multipurpose Organic Gel Breast Prostheses.
There are two shapes of breast prosthesis available i.e. tear drop type (mid aged person) and triangular type (if you wear compressed / wired bras mostly in life). Click on pics to investigate shape and select as per your bra size. Massage Cream is also recommended to moisturize the breast surgical stie.
The big toe pain could be attributed towards any external or internal injury; abnormality (related to foot dynamics) and existing state of vulnerability like arthritis, diabetes, infections, ingrown toe nail, blistering, corns and calluses etc. It could an injury to articular cartilage covering its joint leads to stiffening of joint i.e., Hallux rigidus (stiff big toe) and eventually sprain in its ligament allowing it to move in up and down motion, referred as turf toe, often observed in footballers and other foot related sports.
The treatment of big toe pain is symptomatic relief using pain relievers, though the best remedy to manage the underlying cause of stiffness, pain and turf toe. To isolate big toe, Toe cap is useful and in case of bunion & metatarsal pains; Toe and Metatarsal protector is recommended.
Big Toe is generally covered with Flexible Toe Cap to prevent further injury. The pain is due to undue pressure of progressive flat foot needs to be offset by Toe Spreader (with D-ring). In evening time, use Cokum Foot Cream to massage your toe, it will hep. In case the pain is severe, use Hot and Cold pack or simply cold pack In some cases, bunion is also associated, use Toe- spreader (D) with bunion sleeve is recommended. Use foot warmer in winters to keep foot warm and early recovery.
